What the analyst said

TD Cowen analyst Itay Michaeli lowered the price target on Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) to $330 (from $388) while maintaining a Buy rating.

“A better-than-feared quarter with comforting conference call updates.

The NT fundamental picture has become more challenging (brand, tariffs, macro), but the upcoming catalyst path from new EVs and AV/Robotics appears intact.

Amid poor sentiment and reduced expectations, we still like risk/reward in a setup that’s somewhat reminiscent of last year’s. Lowering estimates/target but maintaining Buy.

Elon Musk noted that his time commitment to DOGE will be reduced starting next month; (2) June RoboTaxi launch remains on track with other cities expected later this year followed by larger scale deployment mid-2026.

Tesla also confirmed that unsupervised FSD should be available on personal vehicles by year-end, a key component of our thesis; (3) Tesla confirmed that it remains on track to produce more affordable models in H1 2025; (4) Optimus pilot production on track for 2025 with a 1mln unit annual run-rate target by ~2030; (5) Cybercab on schedule; (6) Containment of QoQ Auto decremental margin to 16% shows resilience.”
