What the analyst said

Evercore ISI analyst Mark Lipacis reiterated an Outperform rating and $126 price target on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD).

“Management believes that its GPU business market share ramp is viewed as slow by investors, but noted it is pursuing similar LT strategy (with same executive team) that proved successful in winning share server CPUs, and that it is seeing success along a similar time frame.

That being that the 1 st gen product is introductory (MI300 in GPUs, Naples in server CPUs), 2nd gen (MI325, Rome) onboards a large customer, 3rd gen (MI350, Milan) larger customers onboarding and continued market share gains follow in 4th gen (Genoa, MI400) and beyond. • AMD believes that while investors are hyper-focused on its progress in its datacenter GPU business, they perhaps do not fully appreciate that the company continues to see strong momentum in all markets (GPU, CPU and Client), and that its profitability benefits from having a strong position in all 3 markets.”
