What the analyst said

Goldman Sachs analyst James Schneider raised the price target on Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) to $145 (from $130) while maintaining a Neutral rating.

“We expect the stock to move higher following a quarter and guidance that were well ahead of the Street, despite elevated investor expectations heading into the quarter.

The DRAM market remains very healthy, and the NAND market has tightened substantially in recent months – which should drive ongoing tailwinds for Micron’s business.

The company’s product execution also continues to improve – with Micron’s HBM market share now in line with the company’s overall DRAM share position.

Given ongoing gross margin momentum (which is expected to continue into the February quarter), we expect Street estimates and the stock to move higher in the medium term.

We are Neutral on the stock given the potential risk of pricing retracement in HBM in 2026 given qualification of additional suppliers (such as Samsung).

However, we could consider being more constructive on the stock if we see evidence of further supply/demand tightness in 2026, or prospects for further improvement in Micron’s market share.”
