What the analyst said
BofA Securities analyst Vivek Arya reiterated a Buy rating and $250 price target on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD).
“Earlier today, we hosted AMD’s CFO Jean Hu and VP of Financial Strategy and IR Matthew Ramsay for a well-attended investor call.
Key takeaways include: 1) OpenAI’s first 1GW deployment is on track to ship in 2H26 on MI450 Series racks, weighted towards Q4; 2) AMD content will initially include its GPUs, CPUs, DPUs for ~$15-20bn per GW, including contra-revenue warrant impact (<5%); 3) Content could increase over time on ASPs expansion and potential inclusion of networking components; 4) AMD will ship to and bill CSPs for the deployment, the deal could open doors for other AMD-based deployments at CSPs; 5) OpenAI is financially incentivized to deploy all 6 GW prior to October 2030 when warrants expire; 6) Deal/opp’ty is incremental to what AMD has announced so far; 7) the choice/mix of accelerator (NVDA vs.
AMD vs. AVGO) is based on TCO which is different for each workload; and 8) UALink aims to build on what AMD has been doing with InfinityFabric over 5-6 generations, and is a proven concept.”
