What the analyst said
Evercore ISI analyst Mark Lipacis raised the price target on GlobalFoundries (NASDAQ: GFS) to $85.00 (from $58.00) while maintaining an Outperform rating.
“We Remain Buyers of GFS. GFS printed Mar-Q EPS of $0.40, 15% above consensus and guided Jun-Q revs at $1.8bn (110bps above Street). 2Q EPS guidance of $0.43 at the midpoint is $0.02 / 5% above.
1Q26 GMs were 220bps above consensus. The stock traded up +9% during the day.
We remain buyers given improving fundamentals driven by 1) FY26 CID outlook raised to high-30% YY from 30% on accelerating data center demand as highlighted in our channel checks 2) SiPho revs on track to double to $400M in 2026.
Mgmt noted design wins at 3 of top 4 pluggable optical transceiver companies 3) Mgmt commits to exit 2026 at or above 30% GM despite ~50bps/quarter drag from increased gas supply costs due to the Middle East conflict.
We raise our PT to $85 (32x our 2028 EPS discounted back 2 yrs).”
