What the analyst said

Argus analyst Joseph Bonner reiterated a Buy rating and $800 price target on Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META).

“We think Meta dodged a bullet with its last-minute settlement in August 2026 of landmark litigation brought by many U.S. states.

For a reasonable monetary cost and reasonable modifications of its business practices for teens and children, it avoids the risk of being found liable of harming children, a potentially wounding financial fine, and has limited further liability from almost all the U.S. states around these issues.

We think regulatory/litigation risks remain Meta’s most salient risk factor. Our short- and long-term ratings on META remain BUY given the balance of opportunities versus risks.”
