What the analyst said
Piper Sandler analyst David O’Connor lowered the price target on Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) to $90 (from $110) while maintaining a Neutral rating.
“A FQ3 beat of 37% on EPS, but a quite disappointing FQ4 guide with revenues missing cons by 10% and EPS a 44% miss vs cons.
To blame was Israel fab issue and PC demand taking a step down late in FQ3, with co now flagging PC unit market -10% in 2027.
That said Datacenter CPU server strength continues, driven by Agentic AI and co now seeing a 2030 TAM of $200B, similar to peers.
Following results we cut FY27 EPS 18% and lower our FY30 P/E based multiple with a $90 PT. Remain Neutral.
The disappointing FQ4 guide and 4pt miss on GM, has taken some air out of the debate/trajectory.
With PC derisked and Datacenter fully loaded for 2027, stock performance from here hinges on foundry announcements for 14A, of which we expect to hear more in Q1’27.”
