What the analyst said

KeyBanc analyst John Vinh reiterated a Sector Weight rating and $23 price target on Intel (NASDAQ: INTC).

“INTC kicked off its Intel Vision 2025 event in Las Vegas today with a keynote from INTC CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

In his address, he provided some insights into his strategy to turn INTC around, including: 1) beginning product design with the software/end use in mind, with a focus on cloud & hyperscale AI, Generative & Agentic AI, and Physical AI; 2) staying on track with the foundry with Panther Lake and 18A (volume production in the 2H of this year), with support from the current administration, given the importance of domestic leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing; and 3) changing the culture to be more nimble like a startup and gathering and addressing truthful feedback from customers, even and especially if it is harsh.

We maintain our Sector Weight rating, and look forward to hearing more specifics around how these goals will be achieved, given the multitude of challenges that INTC currently faces.”
