What the analyst said

KeyBanc analyst John Vinh reiterated a Sector Weight rating on Intel (NASDAQ: INTC).

“Semiconductors: Asia Takeaways – Our findings for INTC are mixed.

Positives include: 1) Intel 18A is on track to ramp Panther Lake in 2H25 with KPIs including yields and defect densities trending in the right direction and are at acceptable levels; and 2) we believe INTC has won the GPU gaming socket for the Nintendo Switch 3 on 18A.

Conversely, negatives include aggressive price cuts in Lunar Lake CPUs in the range of 20-40%.

While this is resulting in market share gains, it likely limits the trajectory for GM recovery this year.

We are raising our estimates to reflect stronger than expected server demand trends and market share gains in CCAI offset by lower GMs.”
