What the analyst said
New Street Research analyst Pierre Ferragu upgraded Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) from Neutral to Buy with a price target of $125.
“Agentic AI is driving a sustained increase in server CPU demand, with supply constraints set to persist for years, while Intel is getting rid of bad nodes and adding capacity.
We estimate server capacity can grow >50% in 2027 through Intel 3 expansion, 18A ramps and capacity shifting from PCs to servers.
This creates room for a material beat on DCAI revenues and earnings revisions next year.
Looking further out, we forecast Intel server CPU revenues of $50bn by 2030, even as market share falls to 20-25%, as the overall market exceeds $220bn.
Stronger internal demand also supports foundry utilization, reinforcing the broader turnaround. We upgrade Intel to Buy with a $125 Target Price, based on 25x our 2030 EPS forecast of $7.1.”
