What the analyst said
Truist Securities analyst William Stein lowered the price target on Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) to $280 (from $373) while maintaining a Hold rating.
“Q1 Deliveries were weak, but stay focused on FSD updates.
Today, TSLA announced that it delivered 337k units in 1Q25, well below sellside consensus, but we believe the result wasn’t too far off from investors’ views.
Investors should remain focused on TSLA’s FSD updates (see our latest and prior reviews) which we believe are much more important for the long-term value of the stock.
For now and based on today’s updates, our near-term EPS estimates decline meaningfully, and we take our PT to $280 (from $373). Hold.”
