What the analyst said

Jefferies analyst Blayne Curtis lowered the price target on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) to $100 (from $120) while maintaining a Hold rating.

“Overall estimates move higher and that is likely viewed as a temporary positive vs low expectations, but AI growth is the primary metric for the stock and on that front estimates move lower.

Additionally, this might not be the last cut as the growth outlook for the year for AI requires a significant 2H25 ramp tied to launch of MI350 and we still don’t hear of any real traction.

Server revenue was solid despite some potential share loss to INTC and the Client segment was also strong driven by record ASPs but share declines there as well.

As we look to the 2H, the PC market is expected to be “sub-seasonal” but is likely down to account for the stronger 2H even before any tariff demand destruction.

We remain on the sidelines as there is really no upside without an AI story.”
