What the analyst said
Jefferies analyst Blayne Curtis reiterated a Buy rating and $300 price target on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD).
“AMD’s 2025 Analyst Day struck a positive tone across all businesses and while the increase of the AI silicon TAM to $1T+ by 2030 was in line with expectations, the financial model was better in terms of growth (>35%) and GMs (55-58%) yielding >$20 of EPS before 2030.
The 35%+ rev CAGR over the next 3-5 years tied to AI growth of 80%+ but GP servers should grow 20%+ given the acceleration in the TAM ($60B by 2030) and expects share gains (>50% target).
GMs in the range of 55-58% also better as improving higher ASPs and added Enterprise exposure in Client help offset some of the AI revenue growth.
Altogether, the model is expected to drive $20+ of EPS but if AMD can execute, earnings could be higher as the model inputs suggest closer to $30.
Success of the business from here remains largely dependent on how the market receives MI400/MI500 Series GPUs and on that front, there wasn’t anything incremental from the product or customer perspective.
Overall, a positive update and we look for growth to accelerate next year as AI takes off.”
