What the analyst said

Mizuho analyst Lloyd Walmsley initiates coverage on Meta Platforms Inc.

(NASDAQ: META) with an Outperform rating and a price target of $925.

“We launch coverage on META with Outperform and $925 Price Target; it is our favorite long-term holding in Internet.

META has the best leverage to AI/ML and GenAI in our space, which is transforming its consumer product, user engagement, ad products, and operations.

Meta benefits from running a frontier lab and deploying AI across a substantial product set and 3.5B DAUs without structural risks that Google faces.

We believe ads business can sustain faster growth than any large player in the space, growing at 18% from ’24-’27, helping fund massive investments in AR/VR and GenAI and leading to our FY27E Ad rev of $265B (3% above consensus).

We like the disciplined EBIT growth focus while investing into R&D and see bull/bear skew of $1,250/$500 per share or +66%/-34% as compelling.”
