What the analyst said

Raymond James analyst Josh Beck lowered the price target on Meta Platforms Inc.

(NASDAQ: META) to $825 (from $900) while maintaining a Strong Buy rating.

“The Call: Meta continues to exhibit one of the strongest ad return on GPU spend exhibited by the top-line beat with further headroom to deepen ML/DL monetization gains across foundational ad ranking/retrieval stack elements in addition to discrete opportunities tied to Reels momentum (>$50B run-rate), WhatsApp Status, and Threads ads (>150M DAU).

A more aggressive tenor on investment/capex is likely to constrain near-term margins, FCF, and ROIC, placing an increased emphasis on GenAI returns, in particular Meta AI, Business AIs, and Llama competitiveness, consistent with our updated AI Trade Part II ROI(AI)C framework.

Reiterate Strong Buy.”
