What the analyst said

Goldman Sachs analyst James Schneider raised the price target on NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) to $250 (from $240) while maintaining a Buy rating.

“We expect the stock to hold its gains (up 5% in the after market) following a stronger quarter with guidance that came in above Street expectations, against relatively balanced expectations heading into the quarter.

Importantly, we believe management provided solid evidence that addressed several key investor questions: (1) Nvidia sees potential upside to its prior Data Center revenue outlook of $500 bn in 2025/26 ; (2) Rubin remains on track for introduction in mid-2026 and a strong revenue ramp in 2H26; (3) the company sees an extended useful life for its past generation GPUs, with most of its Ampere series GPUs (shipped up to six years ago) still running near full utilization.

We believe investor expectations had been somewhat elevated heading into the quarter, given upward CapEx revisions from hyperscalers, as well as Nvidia’s own bullish 2026 outlook at GTC in late October.

However, we believe the bar for stock performance had been lowered somewhat, with the stock pulling back ~6% ahead of the print.

We reiterate our Buy rating as we continue to believe Nvidia has a sustainable model advantage over peers in AI training applications, we see significant upside to Street estimates, and we view valuation as relatively appealing at current levels.”
