What the analyst said
Jefferies analyst Edison Lee reiterated an Underperform rating and $263.66 price target on Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL).
“AAPL just launched iPhone 18 P/PM and Duo (foldable). Duo’s pricing is exactly the same as JEFe, but it offers a 256GB version at US$1,999 to improve affordability.
For 18P/PM, the prices of 256GB/512GB versions are 6%-8% < JEFe (=7-9% hikes). For the 1TB/2TB versions, the hikes are similar to JEFe.
We believe AAPL wants to boost vol at the expense of margin. iPhone 17/Air pricing is unchanged, which could draw strong demand but create more margin pressure.”
