What the analyst said
JPMorgan analyst Rajat Gupta lowered the price target on Ford (NYSE: F) to $16 (from $17) while maintaining an Overweight rating.
“We see a muted setup for F/GM into 3Q26 earnings as we believe preliminary 2027 outlook commentary is likely to present a cautious tone.
While we expect in-line to slightly better 3Q26 prints, investor focus is likely to be on 2027 revisions and we don’t see results driving meaningful upside: JPMe 3Q26 Ford EBIT/EPS of $2.5 bn/$0.43 compares to consensus $2.4 bn/$0.41, while JPMe 3Q26 GM EBIT/EPS of $4.1 bn/$3.60 compares to consensus of $4.1 bn/$3.52.”
