What the analyst said
Rosenblatt analyst Barton Crockett lowered the price target on Meta Platforms Inc.
(NASDAQ: META) to $918 (from $990) while maintaining a Buy rating.
“Meta rebutted Bear concerns about ad market headwinds with solid growth and a decent outlook, illustrating the resilience of its global footprint and deep auction marketplace.
In a flex of confidence, Meta says this calls for even larger AI investment, and is upping its already elevated capex another 7% to 11%, to a range of $64-$72B.
They tell an intriguing story of current returns on this spending, with a vision of where this could go.
We believe investors ultimately will cotton to the upped AI spend because of this vision, and durability of its ads business in an uncertain macro.
We retain our BUY rating, update estimates and raise our price target by $72, or 9%, to $918.”
