What the analyst said
Citi analyst Christopher Danely reiterated a Neutral rating and $100 price target on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD)
“Yesterday, AMD announced it will divest the manufacturing business of ZT Systems to Sanmina for $3.0 billion.
Last August, AMD announced it would acquire ZT Systems for $4.6 billion but would sell off the manufacturing piece and retain the engineers to better compete with Nvidia.
In aggregate, AMD will retain the 1,200-person engineering team for roughly $1.6 billion or a little over $1.33 million per engineer. We maintain our Neutral rating on AMD.”
