What the analyst said
UBS analyst Timothy Arcuri reiterated a Neutral rating and $21 price target on Intel (NASDAQ: INTC).
“INTC is reportedly halting its external sales of 18A and 18AP foundry nodes to shift focus to the more promising 14A node – something we have voiced before.
Strategically, the shift makes sense to us: 14A is effectively INTC’s first, true foundry process and 2nd iteration of the company’s GAA + BS-PDN node, with a wider process window and PDKs that would make it much more appealing to customers like AVGO or NVDA (who we think have shown the most interest in 18AP).
However, there are several hurdles that call into question the feasibility of this pivot, in our view.”
