What the analyst said

Baird analyst Colin Sebastian lowered the price target on Meta Platforms Inc.

(NASDAQ: META) to $815 (from $820) while maintaining an Outperform rating.

“Reviewing the current bull vs. bear battleground for Meta, we acknowledge further near-term risks to sentiment, but believe embedded expectations are in better balance vs. three months ago, and encourage investors to be opportunistic buyers.

Potential catalysts ahead include: clearing event with Q1 guidance/margin outlook; launch of next Llama model built by TBD Lab; related updates to Meta AI; ongoing improvements to ranking/relevance and engagement metrics; ramping WhatsApp and Threads monetization; further penetration of Adv+ automation; option value from wearables and custom silicon.

Our $815 target price is supported by a combination of a multi-year DCF as well as 30x 2026E P/E (GAAP EPS) and 15x 2026E EV/EBITDA, within the range of peer multiples of 10-30x 2026E P/E and 5-30x 2026E EV/EBITDA given the company’s market leadership, margin profile, and diversified revenue streams.

Despite the elevated privacy/usage-related headline risks and strategic pivot towards short-form video, we believe Meta could ultimately earn back a valuation premium to peer averages due to superior growth prospects, platform scale, and technology orientation.”
