BofA Securities Reaffirms Buy on Meta, $810 Price Target
BofA Securities analyst Justin Post reiterated a Buy rating and $810 price target on Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META).
“Meta’s Muse app launched on 9/8.
Early reviews suggest Muse’s functionality is resonating with users, particularly agent’s ability to execute multi-step tasks and workflows with limited user intervention.
Both WIRED and Business Insider noted that Muse’s web-browsing capabilities were effective at navigating websites and completing multi-step workflows, and Business Insider noted strengths in email prioritization and subscription analysis.
The feedback suggests Muse is beginning to demonstrate tangible agentic capabilities and practical utility across a range of everyday consumer use cases.
We think investors were concerned about Meta’s ability to build a differentiated AI product, but have been positively surprised with agentic functionality, driving more optimism on Meta’s potential AI investment returns.
While feedback has been positive, privacy and trust remain key considerations for broader adoption.
TechRadar described Muse as highly useful but noted user discomfort with granting the agent broad access to personal information.
Muse reached the No. 1 position on the US iOS App Store in the Productivity category shortly after launch and has maintained a 4.9-star rating across more than 25,000 reviews.
Sensor Tower data as of Sept.
19 indicates that Muse has exceeded 300K daily downloads and reached ~2.5mn cumulative US downloads since launch (all platforms), which compares with ~1.6mn for Instagram and ~3.6mn for ChatGPT over the same period.
Muse is also ahead of these apps on iOS (see page 2). The app also reached ~557K US DAUs as of Sep 19.
While Muse remains early in the adoption curve and engagement levels are still modest, differentiated agentic capabilities (leveraging data on Meta) could help maintain momentum, and future integration with Watermelon LLM capabilities could further strengthen the product.
Once Meta is comfortable with consumer use cases, and as capacity becomes available, we would expect Meta to actively promote app downloads on Instagram and Facebook, another lever for growth.”
