What the analyst said
UBS analyst Karl Kierstead raised the price target on Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) to $675 (from $525) while maintaining a Buy rating.
“Ahead of Microsoft’s 1Q/Sept print on Oct 28th, we share our thoughts on the set-up, including the latest investor bogeys as well as fundamental trends.
Bottom line, post a material +39% rally in the stock post the 4Q/Jun print, Microsoft shares are now a consensus long, with investor bogeys on Azure and M365 segment growth now higher.
That said, we conclude that the fundamentals support those higher expectations and at 23x CY27 non-GAAP EPS, the valuation multiple is not stretched.
We are also introducing our new Microsoft model, revised for the re-classification announced by Microsoft last month.”
