What the analyst said

StoneX analyst Mark Zgutowicz reiterated a Hold rating on Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META).

“Meta’s 3Q strengthened the Muse adoption case without resolving our ROIC concerns. Revenue increased 26%, beating consensus by 2%, while operating income excluding the $9.9B settlement increased 11%.

The settlement explains the headline earnings distortion relative to consensus and substantially all of the increase in FY26 expense guidance; management reiterated expectations for full-year operating-income growth excluding that charge.

Meanwhile, the 4Q revenue midpoint exceeded consensus by approximately 1%.

Core advertising remains a substantial funding advantage, but management’s clearer monetization strategy still lacks the quantified investment returns and product economics sought in our pre-call questions.

We maintain our Hold rating.”
