What the analyst said
Deutsche Bank analyst Ross Seymore reiterated a Hold rating and $25 price target on Intel (NASDAQ: INTC).
“We expect cyclical and secular challenges to persist for INTC fundamentals in 2025, with the company endorsing a modest +3-5% revenue growth outlook (DB currently models 2025 revs +6% y/y) and limited GM expansion (DBe GM 41.5% in 2025).
While cyclical uncertainty remains high across the PC/Data Center CPU markets, we expect INTC share price movements to be much more driven by structural actions in the near-to-medium terms (Who is new CEO?
What value creating/unlocking actions can they take? Is node progression on track?).
As highlighted by our recent CES meeting takeaways (see note here), we do not expect any major strategic changes during this transition period, and expect interim management to remain focused on the already-communicated strategy conveyed on its most recent calls (18A rollout, cost cutting efforts, Foundry ramp etc).
Overall, with the company in a transitory position strategically and cyclically, we expect shares to remain rangebound. As such, we maintain our Hold rating.”
