What the analyst said
Deutsche Bank analyst Ross Seymore raised the price target on Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) to $30 (from $23) while maintaining a Hold rating.
“INTC has had a busy month in the news, with multiple equity raises (USG, NVDA, etc.), collaborations (NVDA), divestitures (Altera), and macro related impacts (tariffs and trade restrictions) all acting as event driven catalysts for the stock (now at ~$35, up ~+40% in the past month).
From a high level, these actions continue to reflect CEO Lip Bu Tan’s aggressive pursuit of strengthening the company’s balance sheet at all costs, a strategy that we applaud as INTC continues to exist in a period of high investment for both their product roadmap and the continued development of IFS.
The stock has clearly reacted favorably, trading at ~29x our CY27 PF EPS of $1.20 (versus a historical avg.
P/E of ~14x) indicating to us that not only is the price reacting to event catalysts but also likely attempts at assigning asset valuation to the co’s nascent foundry business.”
