What the analyst said
Freedom Capital Markets analyst Saken Ismailov upgraded Meta Platforms Inc.
(NASDAQ: META) from Hold to Buy with a price target of $800.
“Meta Platforms (META) exceeded revenue expectations in Q3 2025, driven by robust advertising demand, higher active-user numbers, and stronger engagement supported by AI-driven recommendation tools and early WhatsApp monetization.
However, the company’s margins are still adversely affected by rising CAPEX related to data center construction and AI infrastructure expansion.
Therefore, the management’s revised CAPEX forecasts for 2025 and the announcement of even higher spending in 2026, with still limited prospects for monetizing those costs in the short term, may exert additional pressure on margins.
We maintain a neutral stance on Meta’s results and uphold our $800 price target.
However, we are upgrading our recommendation from “Hold” to “Buy,” as we do not believe the current market valuation fully captures the potential of the company’s AI strategy.”
