What the analyst said

UBS analyst Karl Kierstead raised the price target on Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) to $700 (from $675) while maintaining a Buy rating.

“Despite high expectations into the print (Microsoft shares were a consensus long), the company delivered a solid beat, marked by an Azure beat (1Q/2Q actual/guide of 48%/50% relative to expects of 47%/47%), a reaffirm (no raise) of the CY26 capex guide excluding the impact of a 3P capacity delay and total revs/EPS actuals and guide that landed above our estimates.

Microsoft shares were a defensive play into the print and are even more so post the print (given misses elsewhere). We are Buy-rated.”
