What the analyst said
KeyBanc analyst John Vinh lowered the price target on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) to $140 (from $150) while maintaining an Overweight rating.
“AMD posted in-line 4Q results and 1Q guidance.
However, Data Center (DC) missed expectations due to weaker GPU demand, which was offset by strong Client revenues in the quarter.
Data Center GPUs revs exceeded $5B in 2024, but AMD would not provide explicit guidance for 2025 indicating Data Center including GPUs would grow strong DD% this year.
Additionally, with the ramp of MI355 expected midyear, Data Center growth is expected to be 2H weighted, as 1H25 DC revs are expected to be equal to 2H24.
Despite the disappointment in DC, we remain OW and are trimming our ests and PT, as we still expect AMD to gain share and be a beneficiary in AI LT.”
