What the analyst said

KeyBanc analyst John Vinh reiterated a Sector Weight rating on AMD (NASDAQ: AMD).

“Asia Takeaways: In contrast to last quarter, takeaways for AMD were mostly positive and include: 1) strong demand for AMD’s next-generation AI GPU MI355 puts AI revenues this year on pace to reach $7B-$8B (we’re raising our AI GPU ests for 2025 to $7B); 2) server demand NT remains robust, with the latest cloud tracker results showing a meaningful uptick in Turin deployments; and 3) INTC’s aggressive price cuts on Lunar Lake are having limited impacts on AMD’s PC market share.

Despite these positive takeaways, we’re maintaining our Sector Weight rating as we think the gap with NVDA remains wide and await further proof points that demonstrate AMD’s ability to close the gap more meaningfully.”
