What the analyst said

Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Deepak Mathivanan reiterated an Overweight rating and $920 price target on Meta Platforms Inc.

(NASDAQ: META).

“The current debate on META reminds us of that on GOOGL in 2024 – when the investment community was highly concerned about the disruption risks to search.

GOOGL shares underperformed META and AMZN by 19 pts in 2024.

However, the launch of Gemini 2.5 and success of Gemini app / AI overviews have improved sentiment sharply this year. We believe META is positioned for a similar sentiment reversal in 2026.”
