What the analyst said

Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Deepak Mathivanan lowered the price target on Meta Platforms Inc.

(NASDAQ: META) to $830 (from $920) while maintaining an Overweight rating.

“META’s 3Q results came with 3% and 5% upside to street forecasts on revenues and EBIT, respectively.

The company’s 4Q revenue guide of +22% y/y at the high end reflects strong growth in core advertising business. On expenses, META revised higher the opex and capex (low end) outlooks for 2025.

Additionally, the company guided 2026 opex/capex for significant growth and notably larger $ increases respectively.

Operationally, META continues to see steady benefits to time spent and ad performance gains from AI deployments in several areas of the business.

The company still has a long roadmap for incremental AI deployments with compute growth. Shares are trading down 7% AMC (vs.

Nasdaq flat), likely due to 4Q guide slightly missing buy-side whispers and commentary on FY26E opex/capex growth.

However, we think the fundamental outlook for META is strong for 2026.

We continue to believe that META is well positioned to generate meaningful returns from its AI investments over the next several years.

We have revised our FY26E EPS lower by 2% and our revised PT is $830 (vs $920 previously). We reiterate our Overweight rating.”
