What the analyst said

UBS analyst Stephen Ju lowered the price target on Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL) to $332 (from $380) while maintaining a Neutral rating.

“Beyond the surprising shortfall on Search and YouTube (with Search at $63.4B vs St’s $64.9B and YouTube at $11.2B vs St’s $11.4B), Google struck what was a more measured/deliberate tone around monetization of incremental AI queries, which to us suggests a lower ad revenue growth trendline than we had anticipated.

Cloud revenue – while exceeding Street – fell short of our estimate due to certain capacity not coming online until 3Q26-end.

Furthermore, flat QOQ Cloud margin progression despite now more “meaningful” TPU sales disproves the bull narrative that Google could potentially extract a high gross margin and above what peers in the hardware industry may achieve.

With more than $100B of TPU revenues coming online in 2027, we believe this exerts a downward bias to investor projections for EPS / FCF for the year.”
